The book is available now via Tate’s site, as a paperback and an e-book, and will be available via selected bookstores and via Amazon in May.

Many Christians believe in, or are aware of, the Calvinist doctrine of “once saved, always saved”.  Co-author Ken Lambert has just published a new article on www.taberstruths.com about the man who debated this stance and declared that Calvin’s views were not tenable or Scriptural.  To read about Jacobus Arminius, please check out the following link-

Arminius did not get voted into the Top 20 most influential Christians, which may seem odd.  In either case, this man and this subject is one that surely deserves more attention and study for any Christian.

Thank you,

New Book Review, Just In !

Abby and I are glad to relay the following excerpt and link from Mr. Harold Cameron-  a well-respected Christian book reviewer:

“My thoughts about the book: The book Top Ten Christian leaders is a who’s who of individuals who have had a tremendous impact on the Christian faith and the Church. Of course every Christian has their own top ten and the individuals included in this book might be on their list or they might not be. But one thing is for certain the ten people who are included in this book can be considered among the “movers and shakers” of the Christian faith since the Apostles.

The ten individuals written about in ten separate chapters of the book include Emperor Constantine, Athanasius, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, John Calvin, The Wesley’s, Pope Paul VI, and Billy Graham. In chapter 11 the authors list influential figures 11 through 20. The individuals on that list are Arius, King Henry VIII, Philip Melanchthon, Martin Chemnitz, King James I, Pope Pius IX, Joseph Smith, C. F. W. Walther, Charles Spurgeon, and Pope John Paul II.

In each of the 10 chapters of the book the influential church figure is presented in a biographical or historical narrative form providing insightful and often times interesting information about the individual we would have never known had we not read the book. Comparisons and distinctions are made about certain individuals in the book such as is the case with John Calvin and Luther. It helps us as the reader better understand what the similarities and differences were between the individuals. It makes for a very fascinating read.

This book no doubt will spark some debate or contention because of some of the people who are included in it.

If you are a church history buff and you like to read about the lives of individuals who in one way or another had a major impact on the church then this is a book you will surely enjoy reading – even if you do not like all of the people who are written about in the book.”

A new Review, a Writer’s Opinion, and a Link to controversial leader-

(Authors Note: Our book, both the paperback and the ebook, is available for purchase via www.truthbookpublishersstore.com  and  http://buy.christianbookstoday.org/ .  Thank you.)

First, a short and sweet book review from the director of a christian ministry regarding the urban homeless (2535mainstreet.org), Bob Sweeney-   “Its informative; its succinct.  I loved it”.

Next, we asked Miriam Westen, contributing writer and also editor of http://www.jesuscaritasest.org, to give us her thoughts on Thomas Aquinas-

What did you learn about Aquinas that you had no idea about prior to the project?
I learned how humble St. Thomas was despite his learning and fame. His adherence to the teachings of the Magisterium was also evident from his writings.
Does your impression of the person change at all, after your research and writing?
My impression changed to find a soul of deep, humble and persevering faith and love.
How did your own Faith walk change or become enhanced due to this writing project?
St. Thomas’ angelic qualities inspire my own faith life and call me to be more devoted to Jesus.
What is the most inspirational part of the Aquinas’ life, in your opinion?
The most inspirational part of this person’s life is his humility, kindness and love of God.
Do you think most Christians would benefit in a practical or spiritual way from knowing more about Aquinas?  Christians would benefit from learning more of St. Thomas Aquinas although many of his writings are complex, theologically speaking, he is a shining light of humility and devotion.************************
